The Bare Necessities

Start here! These are the bare necessities that you shouldn’t get on the road without. We will get into more of what we consider to be additional essentials in other blog posts, but you can’t get started on RV life without these items.

  • 45 Degree Water Hose Elbows - these help prevent the fittings on your RV from getting damaged, causing costly repairs. We have two of these, one for connecting the drinking-water hose to the RV and one for connecting the hose to the black-water tank clean-out

  • Drinking-Water Hose - we recommend getting two hoses that equal a length greater than your RV because sometimes the hose bib for water hook-up may be behind or in front of your RV (for example, our RV is 39 feet and we have two 25 ft hoses)

  • Wheel Chocks - to block your wheels before you've leveled your RV

  • Wheel Stabilizers - to help stabilize your RV and reduce vibration

  • RV Sewer Hoses & Fittings - again, we recommend getting 2-3 hoses that equal a length greater than your RV in case you are at a campground where the sewer hook-up is near the back of your RV site (for example, we have three 15 foot hoses for our 39 foot RV)

  • RV Leveling Blocks - leveling is a must for any RV!

  • Shore Power Cable (if your RV doesn’t already have one) - 30 or 50 amp that is the length of your RV, a 90 degree locking end helps ensure a solid connection
