Get organized!
Organization items truly keep everyone’s sanity intact while living in an RV. You’re living in a small space now and if you aren't organized, the chaos is going to get overwhelming very quickly! Here are some of our favorite organization items that we’ve found.
Kitchen
Banana hammock for fruits & veggies - with limited counter space in an RV, it doesn’t make sense to have a bowl for fruits/veggies taking up counter space like we did at home. This has been a great space-saving solution.
Dish drying rack - again, with limited counter space and having to wash all of our dishes by hand, this item is so helpful. And this one is collapsible so it is easy to store on travel days.
Under-cabinet paper towel holder - again, now that you’re an RV owner, you think “space saving!” This is an adhesive paper towel holder that is simple and can hook under any cabinet.
Utensils organizer - game changers for drawers at home and in an RV.
2 tier cabinet wire basket - these are so helpful to make extra use of your limited pantry space, which might just be one of the biggest adjustments of RV life!
Bathroom
Toilet paper holder - if you’ve never considered if you’re toilet paper roll takes up prime space, you will once you live in an RV! This one is great because it adheres to the wall, so it’s space saving too!
Shower caddy - we needed something to stay in place on the wall while traveling and also a space saving device - this one fits the bill and stays in place while we are traveling!
2 tier storage organizer - this set is great because they are basically drawers that you can use to maximize your space and make items more easily accessible. We use these for mediations, first aid supplies, make-up and other bathroom necessities.
Towel rack - essential to keep towels out of the way, but able to dry easily
Bedroom
Hanging organizer - I have this in the kids’ room and love it for storing diapers, wipes, bows, socks & undies. They are decorative too!
Space-saving clothes hangers - with a small closet, these are so helpful so that we are able to take clothes for all seasons, but not take up more closet space.
Bedside storage organizer with pockets - again, RV space is at a premium! If you are used to a nightstand, this part is an adjustment. This little organizer is super cheap and works great to hold an iPad, phone, baby monitor, book and glasses.
Multi-purpose around the RV
Organization bins - these are great for kids’ toys, homeschool supplies, clothes & to keep things organized in under-the-bed storage. We use these for literally everything.
Multi-size organization containers - this set is amazing because it comes with multiple sizes, so we use the smaller ones in the bathroom cabinets, medium size in the pantry/refrigerator, and large as multi-purpose uses for DVDs/outside storage/etc.
Hanging shoe organizer - shoes by the door of the RV drove us absolutely crazy our first few weeks out. We have this hanging by the front door of the RV and it makes a world of difference! Plus, it makes it easy for the kids to grab their shoes on the way out. If you only buy one thing we suggest, make it this one!
Outdoor
RV hose bag storage - this is ESSENTIAL for an RV! You absolutely do NOT want your clean hoses mixed up with your dirty!
Cable cuffs - great for keeping all of your cords and wires organized for outdoor storage.
Milwaukee PACKOUT boxes in large & medium - these are essential for keeping tools organized on the road when you have a moving home.
Heavy duty tough storage containers - these are a game-changer; so many uses, keep you organized and are DURABLE which is so important when your home is on the move!
